A 2013 Oxford Martin School study estimates that 47 percent of all jobs could be automated in the next 20 years. Adapting to technology will be important in the development of new jobs and economic growth. This is what the 麻豆传媒 had in mind when it recently joined the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute.
ARM is the nation鈥檚 leading public-private collaboration in industrial robotics and workforce innovation. Its goal is to increase American manufacturing and develop sustainable careers. More than 150 organizations throughout the country in industry, government and academia are members of ARM. 麻豆传媒 is the only member institution in Alabama.
鈥溌槎勾 will share resources with other members in the ARM network and focus initially on educational and workforce development projects,鈥 said Dr. Michael Chambers, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 associate vice president for research innovation.
As a member of ARM, 麻豆传媒 will have more opportunities for collaboration and access to resources throughout the region. The University will also have a role in the mission of robotic innovation and job development.
鈥淎RM membership is another example of our focus on public-private collaborations to advance the commercialization of technology,鈥 Chambers said.
