Oceans Dominate the Earth

The University of South Alabama offers a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences designed to address society’s growth need for specialized understanding of the marine environment. Whether students are excited about marine plants and animals or computers and technology, the marine sciences program provides opportunities to explore coastal and ocean environments in whatever ways interest them the most. Students are guided by a world-renown faculty with expertise ranging from fisheries sciences to ocean physics.  From the muddy salt marshes to coastal reef communities, students will find themselves immersed in learning while exploring the natural laboratories of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, Mobile Bay, and the open waters off the Gulf coast.

The Stokes School of Marine & Environmental Sciences leverages its location and its partnership with Dauphin Island Sea Lab to provide a unique educational experience, the Semester by the Sea, where students in this program will spend the spring semester of their junior or senior year taking coursework with the option to reside there.  A Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences from Stokes School of Marine & Environmental Sciences will prepare you for government, academic, commercial, or industrial careers.
